Au fil du temps, les informations relatives aux soci\u00e9t\u00e9s et aux \u00e9v\u00e9nements varient, les dossiers r\u00e9els sont souvent perdus ou \u00e9gar\u00e9s et lorsque les personnes impliqu\u00e9es ne sont plus avec nous, nous commen\u00e7ons \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser la valeur de notre histoire et de notre patrimoine locaux. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 agricole de Riceville n\u2019est pas exception.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSelon le livre de Tweedsmuir (une histoire locale compil\u00e9e avec l’Institut des Femmes) la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 agricole de Plantagenet Sud, comme elle \u00e9tait initialement connue, a \u00e9t\u00e9 fond\u00e9e en 1865. L\u2019histoire des comt\u00e9s d\u2019Argenteuil, Qu\u00e9bec, Prescott, et Ontario, indique 1869. L\u2019Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies (OAAS) reconna\u00eet 1867 comme date officielle.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

On pense que les premi\u00e8res foires ont eu lieu sur la rue\/route principale qui traversait le village. Plus tard, la foire se tenait juste \u00e0 l\u2019est du village, au sommet de la colline, en face de l\u2019actuel
site (1991). En 1926, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 a achet\u00e9 du site actuel de Henry Rowe pour la somme de
600,00 $. Les signataires autoris\u00e9s sur l\u2019acte \u00e9taient : George A. Ryan, pr\u00e9sident, et Jim Ryan,

J\u2019ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 faire du b\u00e9n\u00e9volat dans la section des enfants il y a de nombreuses ann\u00e9es et plus r\u00e9cemment, j\u2019ai servi en tant que directrice de la section des enfants et directrice de la cat\u00e9gorie artisanat maison. Maintenant que j\u2019entre dans le r\u00f4le de pr\u00e9sidente, je suis excit\u00e9e par l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de travailler aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de nos b\u00e9n\u00e9voles, commanditaires et les membres de la communaut\u00e9.<\/p>

Nous avons encore une programmation musicale talentueuse dans le Beer Garden cette ann\u00e9e, donc vous pouvez danser toute la journ\u00e9e et la soir\u00e9e. Encore une fois, nous aurons notre march\u00e9 country, ainsi que notre soir\u00e9e Bingo. Nous attendons avec impatience une excitante tire de camion et de tracteur antique.<\/p>

Nous avons un excellent groupe de casse-cro\u00fbtes en attente de servir vos friandises de foire pr\u00e9f\u00e9r\u00e9es dans notre nouvel aire de restauration. Le samedi soir, nous aurons un souper spaghetti et le dimanche matin nous aurons notre d\u00e9licieux brunch, tous deux servis dans la cuisine de la salle d\u2019exposition.<\/p>

Un grand merci aux b\u00e9n\u00e9voles, commanditaires et supporteurs de notre foire, sans vous notre foire ne serait pas ce que c\u2019est aujourd\u2019hui.<\/p>

En 1939, la foire a eu lieu les 26 et 27 septembre, le mardi et\nmercredi; le temps \u00e9tait humide et pluvieux mais s\u2019est \u00e9clairci pour le spectacle du soir, avec une meilleure foule (du journal personnel de Pearl Scott). Cela indiquerait une communaut\u00e9 agricole occup\u00e9e avec beaucoup de gens dans la r\u00e9gion imm\u00e9diate.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Un comit\u00e9 du centenaire a \u00e9t\u00e9 mis en place pour trouver des fonds pour la construction d\u2019une nouvelle entr\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 ouest de la propri\u00e9t\u00e9. Ce projet serait achev\u00e9 en 1967. Jim Scott de Fournier a re\u00e7u le contrat pour construire deux piliers en pierre afin de former la nouvelle entr\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019extr\u00e9mit\u00e9 ouest du terrain de la foire; il a, \u00e0 son tour, engag\u00e9 Joe Klute pour aider \u00e0 la construction. La foire a eu lieu les 15 et 16 septembre. Deux plaques comm\u00e9moratives en bronze ont \u00e9t\u00e9 re\u00e7ues de la Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies (OAAS) et ont \u00e9t\u00e9 incorpor\u00e9es dans les piliers. M.
